San Francisco traffic is difficult during tourist season

Springtime is the best time to visit San Francisco, CA.

I work at a marijuana dispensary as a delivery driver. Most of the time, the roads are busy but not overly so. The traffic is something I’ve learned to deal with. However, since the start of Spring, the traffic downtown has been especially bad. If you’ve never driven in San Francisco, it’s hard to explain the traffic and layout of the streets. The city is nothing like anywhere else in the country. I have lived all over the western part of the country. My dad was in the service and my family moved every couple of years. When we settled in San Francisco, CA, I felt like I’d finally arrived home. I have not left since my family moved here in 2000. My mom and dad have retired and moved back to Idaho, but I was unwilling to leave San Francisco. I like my job working at the cannabis dispensary. I work most days of the week but only for about 6 hours on each of those days. I earn enough in tips to cover my rent, groceries, utilities, and assorted necessities. Lately, the traffic has been congested. The roads are overrun with tourists. These people take forever to make their turns and are inching along looking at the sites. I’ve noticed that the license plates are from out of state. The cannabis deliveries are taking much longer than normal. I am arriving late for deliveries and need to work longer everyday. At the end of the shift, I’m exhausted just from navigating the traffic. It’s very frustrating.

Surprised by California

For most of our life, I figured California was the same as I saw it in the movies.

I pictured movie set-like scenes with shopping at places like Gucci, Dolce and Gabbana, and high-fashion haute clothing stores.

I assumed CA was filled with hills and valleys, and that the desert was strictly in the midwest. When I relocated to California, I was completely surprised by the geography of the area. I settled into a neighborhood just outside of San Francisco. I found a place with some friends who I’d met in school. The three of us shared a small rented house in San Francisco and it was still extremely expensive. I saw the hills and valleys that I had expected, but outside of the actual town was a surprise. I found groves of lemon and orange trees along with big Redwood forests. Everything in CA was bigger than expected. The number of marijuana dispensaries was a bit shocking. San Francisco included a cannabis dispensary on every corner. Each business features a variety of different strains, consumption methods and cannabis gear. I was aware that CA had legalized recreational marijuana, but I was still shocked by the amount of shops selling the product. My friends and I rent a place by the park and there are four cannabis dispensaries within walking distance. I think I’m going to be content living in CA. I’ve already gotten used to the weather, which is completely wonderful. It never gets overly cold in this area and summer temperatures remain in the 70s on most days. If you have never seen San Francisco or the west coast, I would highly suggest making it a priority.

The best concert of my life

Last fall, my friends wanted to take me on a trip for my 30th birthday. I have always wanted to see a concert at Red Rocks Amphitheater near Denver, Colorado, as I had never been and I had heard so many good things about the space and the acoustics. As soon as we got off the airplane, we all noticed the fresh, crisp mountain air. Once the Uber dropped us off at the hotel, we unpacked, and walked across the street to the cannabis dispensary. The budtender showed us all of the different marijuana products that they sold. Since cannabis is legal in Denver, they were able to offer a multitude of cannabis products like THC edibles, cannabis flower, marijuana vapes, and even CBD tinctures. We told the budtender that we were going to a concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and that we wanted to get something to heighten the experience, without any of us feeling too high to enjoy the show. The budtender showed us some THC gummy worms that were infused with cannabis extract. He said that we would want to start with half of a worm and wait a bit to see how it affected us before we took any more. My friends and I went back to the hotel, and we each ate half a worm about two hours before the show, and right before the show started we ate another half. The high was light, and none of us were uncomfortably high, and the best part was that we were all able to remember the whole concert, which was the whole reason we went to Denver.

My kid wanted to go to a certain college all because of legal marijuana

I applied to a fairly good amount of different colleges during my senior year of private school.

I really did not want to wait until the last moment as well as I wanted to make sure that I had a fair amount of choices.

I took the decision pretty seriously as well as I weighed all of the pros as well as cons before choosing the perfect college for me. I was a little disappointed when my kid told me that he was going to choose a college based on legal recreational cannabis… My kid went to the University of NM, because that state has legal recreational cannabis. I cannot say that the University of NM in Albuquerque is a horrible choice, but legal recreational cannabis isn’t the best reason to choose any particular college. My kid had a massive stack of applications from different colleges as well as he had acceptance letters from a half-dozen different places. Still, he chose to move to Albuquerque as well as attend school in that place. He is currently in his junior year of college. I definitely know he uses legal recreational cannabis, despite the fact that he does not let it affect his grades much at all. He is a straight-A student as well as he plays soccer for the college team. If I did not keep thinking about the marijuana that he is regularly using, I would legitimately feel that everything is fine. I cannot stop feeling worried about everything though. I fear that my kid will eventually go off the deep end as well as begin missing classes. I know it seems unlikely, although I read many studies online that clearly prove cannabis can stunt growth in our brain, that is my biggest fear to be honest.

My kid decided to go for the college that had legal cannabis available

I applied to all kinds of crazy universities during my senior year of high school.

I basically didn’t want to wait until the last minute & I wanted to make sure that I had all the choices I needed. I took the decision pretty seriously & I weighed all of the pros & cons before going for the right college for me. I was a little upset when our kid told me that he was going to choose a college based on legal recreational cannabis! My kid chose the University of NM, because that state has legal recreational cannabis available for sale. I honestly cannot say that the University of NM in Albuquerque is an awful choice, but legal recreational cannabis is not the finest reason to choose a college. My kid had a large amount of applications from various colleges & he had acceptance letters from a half-dozen places. Regardless of that fact, he chose to transport to Albuquerque & attend university there! He is now in his junior year of college. I suppose he uses legal recreational cannabis, but he doesn’t let it affect his grades whatsoever. He is a straight-A student & he plays soccer for the college team on top of that. If I wasn’t thinking about the marijuana he is likely using, I would absolutely suppose that everything is all good. I cannot stop feeling distraught. I fear that our little one will go off the deep end & get started with missing classes one of these days. I suppose it seems highly unlikely, however I learned a lot of studies online that prove cannabis can easily stunt growth in our brain, and that totally is my largest & worst fear.
