Hiking is a really great family friendly activity in Portland, Oregon.

Most parents know that hiking with kids can be a blast. Younger hikers bring a special kind of energy into a hike, that’s for sure. I have been hiking with my kids since they were both little babies. With my crew of kids, we hike whenever the weather permits. Here in Portland, it rains a lot of the time. For us, a light rain is fine to hike in but when it gets to be a heavier rain, we give up and go inside. We also like for the temperature outside to be at least 55 degrees. Otherwise, we would all be miserable and nobody wants that! Portland has many amazing loop trails for hikers, which are perfect for children. Portland is a great place to explore natural wonders and beautiful surroundings like lakes, forests, giant trees, wooden bridges, mountains, or even extinct volcanoes like Mt. Hood. You could even go exploring in the city if you want to hike through an urban area and stop in for some cannabis edibles at one of the city’s many legal cannabis dispensaries. It’s a fairly popular beach and it definitely lived up to its reputation that day as there were families for as far as the eye could see.

Evansville, Indiana, has been my home for the past 10 years. I enjoy the area a great deal. There are a number of restaurants, clubs, and activities to interest lots of different people. The cold temperatures make it very hard to keep the house warm, but I don’t have too many problems thanks to the new furnace. I often need to keep the temperature inside of my apartment lower than 70 degrees or it feels like an oven.
