My sons and I love to go fishing together.

What is nice is that our location, Orland Park Illionios, allows us to do this.

The Centennial Park offers two gian fishing lakes on the south end. My boys and I pack up the gear and spend a day fishing. The park also has soccer fields, baseball, skatepark, a playground and a fitness center. If we wanted to do more than fish, we could. Typically us guys make a day of it. We get lunch in town and then fish for hours. We then go back home, grill up whatever we caught and have a nice evening as a family. When people hear about where I live a lot of people assume my boys and I are going ice fishing. Yes, it does get cold in my area to where I rely on my heating equipment most of the year. The spring and summer weather is quite pleasant though. My boys and I have nearly six months of good fishing weather. Some Days our crew needs to bundle up in coats, hats and gloves, but it is still a fun time. I pack a thermos filled with hot chocolate and we bundle together for warmth. It almost makes it more fun when it is slightly chilly. After the cold wind and water, it is nice going inside to our warm home. My wife and I sprung for the good fireplace our local HVAC company offered. The boys gather around the fire to warm up while I put away the gear. It is a nice little thing we do together.

Back in college it was easy to fall into a habit of smoking marijuana the second I got out of bed. I had a dorm to myself and no roommates or parents to dissuade me from taking a huge bong rip before heading to my first class of the day. The only problem with this mindset is that I followed it into the afternoon hours as well, making me high for most of the day in my late teens and early 20s. If you’re as awkward around girls as I am from the jump, making myself nervously high much of the time didn’t help whatsoever. The only thing that stopped me from abusing cannabis more than I had already was the cost. Some of this weed was the best I’ve ever had, but I don’t miss taking the risk. We were always worried about police as the RCMP patrols the King’s Highway system regularly. In Alberta and Quebec, local governments opted to lower the minimum age for buying recreational cannabis to 18. I live near the University of Ottawa in a neighborhood that is just walking distance from Strathcona Park. Somedays I take my cannabis vaporizer to the Rideau River, but today I did my “wake and bake” routine in the morning before visiting the Canada Aviation and Space Museum further north of my neighborhood.

Spokane, or the Lilac City as it is sometimes known, is a land of four beautiful seasons.

Fireplaces that have heaters as inserts provide both ambience and heating. Natural gas furnaces are extremely popular, as they tend to be both reliable and reasonably priced. Oil furnaces and electric furnaces are available, and some people even choose to have hybrid heaters, but natural gas still tends to dominate.

Although I live in North Tampa right now, my family lived in Venice for most of my childhood.

Sarasota County isn’t exactly the best place to live under 40 years old, but it was much worse in the 1990s and early 2000s.

By the time I got to high school, my friends and I would pack ourselves into a car and drive to downtown Sarasota to find some kind of fun for the evening. We would walk the streets near the marina and crack jokes about school and work life. One of my high school friends went to the University of Tampa right along the water on the Hillsborough River. Instead of driving a car up and down interstate 75 to get up to Hillsborough County, he had a moped that he rode up and down U.S. 41 and U.S. 301 if he could avoid heavy traffic. Thankfully when I applied to the University of South Florida here in North Tampa, I had a car to get to and from my parent’s house on weekends or during holidays. Now I have a small house here up on Temple Terrace and couldn’t be happier with the selection of businesses, especially contractors like heating and cooling companies. I found my HVAC supplier through scouring internet reviews to see who had the least amount of angry, ranting, former-customers publishing their experiences on the internet. My heating and cooling company is located in Tampa but they service other communities in the greater Tampa Bay area like Brandon and St. Petersburg. They also offer discounts for senior citizens and anyone on disability or federal assistance.

Autumn in Albuquerque is extremely comfortable.

After a few months of hot summer temperatures, it’s nice to finally get a break and experience pleasant weather before it drops below freezing at night.

There are a number of autumn traditions within the desert valley city. Towards the end of autumn there are the Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebrations that coincide with Halloween and last for days or weeks into November. The Day of the Dead is a holiday that honors and celebrates the lives of the deceased. Although Dia De Los Muertos was founded in Mexico, it is also celebrated in communities with a strong Mexican heritage like Albuquerque, San Diego, and El Paso to name a few. But before Dia De Los Muertos, Albuquerque hosts one of its most famous and popular attractions—the International Balloon Fiesta. For nine straight days in October there are hundreds of hot air balloons littering the sky. There are also opportunities to ride in one of the balloons, but it’s hard if you’re sensitive to cold temperatures like I am. It’s still a few weeks out and our weather is getting cold enough in Albuquerque to need the central heater throughout the day and night. I have friends who recently purchased a heat pump, but I’m still on the fence. It would replace both my air conditioner and furnace, but my a/c is only nine years old at this point. Should I replace my HVAC system this early on? It’s honestly a question that I keep asking myself without getting any closer to an answer.
