You can’t choose a college based on legal cannabis

I applied to numerous different universities and colleges during my senior year of high school.

I genuinely did not want to wait until the last hour and I wanted to make sure that I had a reasonable amount of choices.

I took the decision very seriously and I weighed all of the pros and cons before eventually choosing the right college for me. I was somewhat disappointed when my kid told myself and others that she was going to choose a college based on legal recreational cannabis. My kid chose the University of New Mexico, because that state has legal recreational cannabis. I cannot say that the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque is an excruciating choice, however legal recreational cannabis is not the best reason to choose a certain college. My kid had a stack of applications from numerous colleges and she had acceptance letters from a half-dozen different places. Still, she chose to transport to Albuquerque and attend college there. She is currently in her junior year of college. I think she uses legal recreational cannabis, although she doesn’t let it affect her grades in the least. She is a straight-A student and she plays soccer for the college team. If I did not think about the marijuana, I would honestly believe that everything is fine. I cannot stop feeling disappointed and worried. I fear that my kid will go off the deep end and begin missing classes eventually. I suppose it seems unlikely, but I checked a lot of studies online that prove cannabis is able to stunt growth in our brain, and that is my greatest fear and worry.
