Legal recreational cannabis is no reason to choose a college

I applied to a lot of different universities and colleges during my senior year of high school.

I didn’t want to wait until the last minute and I wanted to make sure that I had plenty of choices.

I took the decision seriously and I weighed all of the pros and cons before finally choosing the right college for me. I was a little disappointed when my son told me that he was going to choose a college based on legal recreational cannabis. My son chose the University of New Mexico, because that state has legal recreational cannabis. I can’t say that the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque is a bad choice, but legal recreational cannabis isn’t the best reason to choose a college. My son had a stack of applications from different colleges and he had acceptance letters from a half-dozen different places. Still, he chose to move to Albuquerque and attend school there. He is currently in his junior year of college. I know he uses legal recreational cannabis, but he doesn’t let it affect his grades. He is a straight-A student and he plays soccer for the college team. If I didn’t know about the marijuana, I would absolutely believe that everything is fine. I can’t stop feeling worried and concerned. I fear that my kid will go off the deep end and start missing classes one of these days. I know it seems unlikely, but I read a lot of studies online that prove cannabis can stunt growth in our brain. That is my biggest and worst fear.
