I was anxious to transport south & leave behind the long, chilly & snowy winters in the north! I visited peculiar areas around Tampa & eventually found a small condo in Lakeland. I was cheerful to purchase a lakefront property; The loft was affordable because it had been left empty for various years, but everything was outdated & in need of repair. The previous owners had gutted one of the bathrooms & left it torn apart. There were no gutters on the house, various of the windows were broken, & it odored musty. I was a bit worried thad the heat pump looked rather seasoned & was extremely loud. I expected to be forced to upgrade it within a year… However, the equipment ran just good for various years. It was in the middle of June, when the outdoor temperature in Lakeland was in the mid nineties, when I observed hot air pouring from the vents, then when I called an Heating & A/C contractor for repair, she found a legitimately small refrigerant leak. It cost me one hundred dollars to have him recharge the refrigerant… Since I was expecting to need a whole modern system, I was relieved. There was no way of knowing how long the repair would last, but less than a year later, hot air was once again flowing from the vents. I was unwilling to spend money one hundred dollars in repairs every year to keep an outdated system going. I invested into a brand modern heat pump. While the cost was significant, the modern heat pump is far more energy efficient & has trimmed my energy costs.
