It will add quite an expense already to the hefty heating installation bill
I have looked into purchasing heated flooring for my house in Springfield, MO. The reason is that the winter season in Missouri is just brutal. It is long and lingers for months on end. September to May can be really freezing and require the heating system to be on. I own a central heater that does an okay job. The thing is, all the heat rises to my ceiling. The top floor feels warm but the bottom area is freezing. That is why I have to constantly up my thermostat, wear slippers, and I don’t feel warm enough. When you blast air, the warm particles are lighter than the cold, so the rise. There is nothing I can do about it. I have been toying with heated flooring since it uses electricity. There are electric heated mats under the floorboards. No heated air rises, it stays where you want it. Anything that touches the flooring feels warm as a result. It is silent, clean, and energy smart. The only downside is that you need to completely redo your flooring to install this system. The current floor must be ripped up to the barebones. Then the cement board goes down, then the mats, and then the new flooring. It will add quite an expense already to the hefty heating installation bill. I am still pondering it though. I think I am going to call a Springfield heating dealer to see if they can give me some price quotes. I want to know if it is possible for me or if it is too expensive.
