Alcatraz Island was basically used as a fort, military prison, and a federal penitentiary. Today, it is owned by the National Park Service. Golden Gate National Recreation Area easily includes Alcatraz Island. The island has more than a million visitors each and every year. There are guided and self tours available as well. My wife and I decided to take our children to Alcatraz Island this past weekend, and our babies are 10, 12, and 13 years old. All of us were thinking it would be a fun and interesting learning experience. I decided to visit Alcatraz Island when I was substantially younger. I had not been back in roughly 20 years. I thought he had to use the restroom, so we decided to go look for a restroom. We honestly became lost looking for the toilet. We ended up in a room with no windows and truly creepy sounds. I absolutely assume the place is haunted, no one else was in the room with my son and I, but I still heard various screams and moans coming from some location.
