My best friend and I both have birthdays that fall in the month of June. Our birthdays are a couple of days apart, but we usually celebrate them together. This year, the two of us decided to take a trip to California. There is a place in Santa Barbara County called the Channel Islands National Park. The Santa Barbara county National Park is home to a variety of species of birds, land animals, and plants. There are five volcanic islands that make up the Channel Islands National Park and we planned to take a kayak tour to explore all of the area. Our trip to California was the first time my friend and I ever had the chance to use cannabis legally. California is one of a handful of states that have legalized cannabis for everyone. Since we were in a state with legal recreational marijuana laws, we decided to go to a dispensary. The selection was out of this world. We were totally overwhelmed, but the budtender helped us pick out a couple of things. One of those items was a bag of edible candies flavored like pink lemonade. My friend and I ate two of the candies on the morning of our kayak tour. Both of us didn’t begin to feel the effects until we were on the water. It made the day a lot more interesting, but I barely remember the events from the day. I know we spent a lot of time giggling and checking out the scenery, but I’m not sure we ever left the marina.
