My daughter Mia has constantly wanted to go to college in the Midwest part of the country; A few years ago, the people I was with and I visited some family in Lowell MI, & she has been obsessed with the section ever since, so, it was no surprise that she applied to the University of Lowell MI; I was ecstatic that she got into the university of her dreams, & she couldn’t wait to get started.
I appreciate the campus because it’s so charming & I was also fascinated by the mysterious Echo Point.
It’s a spot on the campus where you can hear your voice echo off the surrounding buildings. I experienced it for myself, & it is quite fascinating! Mia, of course, wasn’t impressed; she was just ecstatic about going to the university. Although I am glad that Mia is where she wants to be, I was nervous about the weather in Lowell MI. All of us are from the Southern part of the country, & the people I was with and I are used to a tropical climate. And the weather in the Midwest is far from that… The average high is between 40 & 50 & the lows get down into the 20s, while the dorms have an Heating and Air Conditioning system, I decided to buy Mia a small space oil furnace for her room as well. The space oil furnace is good because she can use it in odd rooms of her dorm, and especially in the bathroom where it was frigid when the people I was with and I toured the room. One thing I know about our daughter, she hates being frigid when she gets out of the shower. So, I know that she will be using the space heater, it’s truly one of the best things that I got for her. I just hope that she finds other ways to stay warm while the people I was with and I were in the frigid months.
