The trash man couldn’t pick up the AC

My wife and I decided to clean out the basement of our Phoenix home.

  • We have a home in Phoenix and another home in Denver.

When my wife and I met, she was living in Denver and I was living in Phoenix. She decided to rent out her house and move to the city to be with me. We have lived in Phoenix for the past 20 years, and now we are getting ready to move back to Denver. We are going to sell that house as well so we can buy a recreational vehicle and travel across the country. The first step in the process is making sure that we have enough money to sustain our living. We have to sell both of the houses. We’ve been cleaning out the basement and all of the attic junk. There was a large AC unit in the basement of the house. I bought the AC unit about 15 years ago when my mother came to visit. She said the temperatures in the house were hotter than hell and she was going to go home early if I didn’t buy an air conditioner for her bedroom. My wife and I bought the window AC unit. It broke down a couple of years later. Instead of taking it to the trash, we left it sitting on a shelf in the basement. It took both of us to carry the AC unit out to the street. I should have known that that garbage man would not pick it up. The trash man left a note on the curb letting me know that it was too heavy. We had to dispose of the AC unit on our own.
