My parents seem disappointed about my chosen profession

My mom and dad used to talk about me with great pride when I worked at a venture capital firm downtown.

I was earning six figures a year, but I was stressed out beyond my control.

I wound up in the mental hospital after overdosing on xanax. It was an accident, but it was a wake-up call that I needed to change things. I wasn’t happy working in the stressful job I had. My therapist suggested finding a job that was a little bit less stressful. I had my application set up with a temporary service and the service called because a Denver marijuana dispensary was looking for a manager. I was actually a great candidate for the job even though I didn’t have any experience working in a marijuana dispensary. The management team needed someone with a strong background in finance and business. I interviewed for the job. I honestly didn’t think the interview went very well. I did not expect to receive a call back unless it was a rejection call. When the owner of the Denver marijuana dispensary called to offer me a position, I was shocked and surprised. When I told my mom and dad about the new job, their mouths nearly hit the ground. They act like I am doing something illegal, but I am having a lot more fun at work than I did in the past. I don’t know if I will work at the Denver marijuana dispensary forever, but I know right now the job is a lot less stressful and that makes me feel mentally more stable.
