The number of public parks in Toronto is particularly insane, plus few people believe myself and others when I tell them.

I was going to see our family in Alberta while I was in the Wintertide holidays plus told them that Toronto has over 1,500 public parks to explore from 1 edge of the town to the next.

They were surprised plus thought that I must be exaggerating, but you can undoubtedly see this the moment you open Toronto on a GPS app. There is a park for every other town block it seems, with some spanning many acres in size. For instance, Beaumont Park isn’t far from the CN Tower, yet it boasts a public campground like you’d expect to find in Glen Rouge. One of our favorite public parks in Toronto is Trinity Bellwoods Park on Queens Street adjacent to the West Queen West neighborhood. Trinity Bellwoods Park contains a community recreation centre, hockey rink, cat bowl, plus farmer’s market. Whenever I’m in Trinity Bellwoods Park, I like to sneak a joint away from the immediate public view if there aren’t too many people around on a random afternoon. There are so many trees plus hills that it usually isn’t difficult, especially if I pretend that I’m smoking a cigarette. When I had to leave Toronto for a year while I was in university, the town I stayed in had virtually no urban parks. I didn’t realize what I was missing not being in Toronto. The local government has gone out of their way to ensure that the urban development of Toronto does not stifle the natural environment of southern Ontario.

After reaching 65 & finally retiring from our tied up job, all I want to do is travel.

I was exhausted & expected to sleep in everyday for a year or longer, but it only lasted a few weeks before I was ready to get active again. Now that I’m retired, I’ll be spending at least half of the year in Cocoa, although I need to make a few upgrades to the cabin first. I want to put a brand new heat pump in our cabin as temperatures get lower every year in Florida while in the late Winter season. Brevard County has had freeze warnings several times this year already. I haven’t been in Cocoa while in those evenings & now I’m upset that our few plants outside will be dead from the frost on those freezing afternoons. My friends in Melbourne to the south said that he had a thin layer of ice on his windshield, but there wasn’t any snowfall.

My parents raised our siblings and I in Sarasota, Florida. They both moved to this section from New York to get away from the snow and ice every Wintertide season. Most of our extended family is scattered around the country so there wasn’t much holding them back from leaving New York. The only other factor that brought them to southwest Florida was a loving trip the 2 took down here when they were still students living in the northeast. My parents enjoyed Sarasota so much that they vowed to move here as soon as they could honestly afford it. Despite the natural beauty of this city, our friends all drove up to Tampa on Thursday afternoons to celebration and see shows at music locales. There are more people and contractors in Tampa, making it an appealing town to anyone young in the state who lives in a small town or town. My friend Rick eventually left Sarasota and settled in Ybor City to toil for a important Heating and Air Conditioning company that has its offices in East Tampa. He is tied up laboring through each and every season because the heat forces several to use air conditioning all year long. There are also a fine number of people who use their gas furnaces during normal heating seasons.
